Educational Travel Scholarships
There are up to four bursaries available each year with awards not normally more than a maximum value of £700 each. Applications will be considered twice a year and can be submitted at any time up to the closing dates:
20th March: for conferences to be attended and educational visits to be made between 1st July and 31st December the same year.
20th September for conferences to be attended and educational visits to be made between 1st January and 30th June.

Applicants should note that they are responsible for arranging their visits or conference attendance and a registration for conference attendance or a reservation or approval to attend an educational institute MUST be in place at the time of application for a travel bursary. Confirmation MUST be provided at the same time as the application. Applications MUST also give detail of what funding is being requested from WRETF and the sources of funding currently obtained or promised, so that an assessment can be made of what funding WRETF can provide if the application is successful and applicants should also ensure that they have sufficient funding in place, when they submit the application form, to meet any shortfall between the full cost and any bursary amount awarded should they be successful.
Recipients of bursaries MUST use the funding as specified in the letter announcing their award and note that bursaries are given solely for the use by the recipient and are not transferable for any other purpose than that for which they are awarded.
Bursaries are NOT available for an individual's personal study towards gaining a certificate, diploma or degree or other qualification and applications from previous bursary recipients will not be considered within two years of them receiving the prior bursary.
Please note that you are responsible for arranging and paying for your own travel insurance and medical/personal insurance whilst you are attending the conference (or making the educational visit) in carrying out the WRETF travel bursary. You should also ensure that you have a sufficient level of insurance cover before you travel.
